ABSTRACT
Research has shown that several criteria underlie people's opinions about the welfare deservingness of benefit recipients. However, it remains unknown which factors are associated with emphasis people place on such criteria. Using a 2006 Dutch national survey disability pension recipients, we study influence structural and cultural three criteria: control, need, reciprocity. OLS regression analyses show specific is strengthened by indicate possibility resource competition as following: age, lower levels education, unemployment, income. actual personal experience receiving benefits weakens emphasis.
