ABSTRACT
Abstract Despite the growing popularity of multidimensional poverty measurement and analysis, its use to measure impact social protection programs remains scarce. Using primary data collected for evaluation HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN) 068, a randomized, conditional cash transfer intervention young girls in South Africa that ran from 2011 2015, we construct an individual-level poverty, major departure standard indices household as unit analysis. We our by aggregating multiple deprivation indicators across six dimensions using system nested weights where each domain is weighted equally. Our findings show consistently reduces deprivations among girls, particular through domains economic agency, violence, relationships. These results how interventions can improve lives women beyond single demonstrate potential simultaneously address targets SDGs.
