ABSTRACT
This study analyses age-specific differences in income trends nine European countries. Based on data from National Accounts and the Union Statistics Income Living Conditions, we quantify changes between 2008 2017 decompose these into employment, wages, public transfer components. Results show that of younger age groups stagnated or declined most countries since 2008, while older population increased. The decomposition analysis indicates main drivers diverging are higher employment among a strong increase pensions, especially for women.The online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1007/s11205-021-02838-w users.
