ABSTRACT
In a closed landfill, we investigated the diversity and ecological characters of carabid beetles to understand importance landfills that have potential as multi-functional habitat for improving biodiversity in urbanized areas. addition, studied influence environmental factors (vegetation structure, soil) on distribution beetles. A total 92,495 individuals representing 15 species were collected from landfill. Although richness recorded landfill was not higher than other green spaces city, could sufficiently provides stable semi-natural area Soil pH, Na, tall grass plant cover influenced assemblage However, variables (e.g., K+, Na+, Mg2+, bare land cover, weedy tree cover) correlated with composition. It is implied which highly modified engineered environment, abiotic drainage, soil texture, leachate, landscape context, etc.) biotic intra- interspecific competition) may affected assemblage. artificial drainages are essential facilities management, they critical factor affects inhabiting seemed randomly fall into drainage. For successful management landfills, it very important minimize intervention develop sensitively method.
