ABSTRACT
Expression of the transient receptor potential ankyrin 1 (TRPA1) has been demonstrated not only in dorsal root and trigeminal ganglia but also different brain regions (e.g., hippocampus, hypothalamus, cortex). However, data concerning their role neurodegenerative age-related diseases CNS is still indistinct. The aim our study was to investigate TRPA1 a mouse model senile dementia. For investigation changes during aging, we used male young (3–4-month-old) old (18-month-old) wild-type (TRPA1+/+;WT) gene-deleted (TRPA1−/−) mice. Novel object recognition (NOR) test as well Y maze (YM), radial arm (RAM), Morris water (MWM) tests were assess decline memory learning skills. In behavioral studies, significant loss detected aged TRPA1+/+ mice with NOR RAM, there no difference measured by YM MWM regarding age gene. TRPA1−/− showed significantly reduced loss, which could be seen higher discrimination index less exploration time RAM. Furthermore, animals reference error RAM notably mobility NOR, compared age-matched WTs. Our present work provided first evidence that receptors mediate deteriorating effects decline. Understanding underlying mechanisms open new perspectives pharmacotherapy
