ABSTRACT
Abstract Exposure to plants has been reported promote health and reduce stress, plant color direct impacts on physical mental health. We used images of common types tended communities in Shenyang, China, with combinations yellow, green, red foliage, as experimental stimuli. A total 27 were visual electroencephalography measure α wave activity (8–13 Hz) 40 subjects while they viewed These data combined subjective questionnaire analyze the relaxing effect different proportions people. The results revealed that, although there slight differences between psychological findings, women significantly more relaxed than men after viewing images. Physiological responses varied colors communities: those foliage two or three induced stronger a single color. Specifically, (1) for one-color communities, green yellow relaxation communities; (2) two-color optimal proportion was 55% + 45%, effect; (3) three-color strongest when 25% 20% red. would provide matching future landscape design, which may be helpful creating healthy environments.
