ABSTRACT
Avascular necrosis (AVN) of the humeral head is a severe complication after proximal humerus fracture dislocations, and leads to poorer clinical outcome subsequent revision surgeries. The aim current study was analyze influence time surgery on AVN rate locked plating dislocation fractures humerus. This retrospective included 30 patients with mean age 63 ± 14 years type B3 or C3 according AO/OTA classification. rates were determined clinically radiographically. In addition, using Constant score (CS), age- sex-adjusted (CS%), Disabilities Arm, Shoulder, Hand (DASH) score, range motion, rates. Patients subdivided into groups subjects operated early (≤48 h trauma) those late (>48 trauma), relative risk (RR) for complications revisions both groups. After follow-up 37 months (range: 12–66 month) CS% 60 24 DASH 32 points. Ten (33%) developed symptomatic AVN, ten underwent surgery. Early performed 25 while five surgery, all had fivefold increased RR (p = 0.002) associated surgical (RR 3.3, p 0.031). dislocations humerus, within 48 trauma significantly decreases
