ABSTRACT
Since the turn of century, robotic-assisted colorectal surgery has been synonymous with da Vinci® robotic surgical system. We report in this study our first results sigmoid resection for diverticular disease using Senhance™ Surgical Robotic System, while introducing a standardized roadmap engaging arms. 12 patients underwent System. All four arms system were engaged during all procedures according to previously devised roadmap. A 4-trocar technique was used patients. Perioperative data, including those regarding technical difficulties, collected and analyzed. Two converted into standard laparoscopy. There no conversions open surgery. The mean age 62.5 years (47-79). One third males. BMI 27 kg/m2 (19-38). operative time, console time docking 219 min (204-305), 149 (124-205) 10 (6-15), respectively. length stay 9 days (6-15). one major complication (8.3%, Clavien-Dindo IIIb). mortalities. No other complications observed. readmitted after discharge. System can be safely adequate training systematic planning different steps procedure. Further experience is needed judge benefit patient surgeon, as well cost effectiveness.
