ABSTRACT
Abstract The MMI Symani ® is a recently approved robotic microsurgical system for surgical procedures in adults. enables the surgeon to create microanastomoses. Clinical applications so far include lymphatic vessels surgery and creation of special flap plastics. use coronary arteries has not yet been assessed. aim this preclinical study was evaluate applicability anastomoses cadaveric porcine model. A total 12 were performed by three senior cardiovascular surgeons on left main artery hearts. Artificial bypasses (diameter 1 mm) trunk. with system. Evaluation included procedure times anastomosis leakage. All could be successfully performed. time decreased due learning curve between first 47:28 ± 5:30 min last 22:37 3:25 min. final evaluation showed excellent results low quality also improved relation increasing curve. used an acceptable frame without technical failures. Hence, appears feasible conventional surgery. Further studies animal models are mandatory prior clinical application.
