ABSTRACT
Abstract This is the first report of chemical composition Alphitonia neocaledonica (AN) and Grevillea exul var. rubiginosa (GER) seed oils. Using retention indices gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, an unusual family unsaturated ω5‐fatty acids has been identified. These include 14:1, 16:1, 18:1 20:1. Identification fatty was confirmed by formation DMOX derivatives which gave characteristic easily interpreted mass spectra. DMDS adducts were used to identify positions double bonds in monounsaturated acids. The major 16:1ω5 (45.6%) 18:1ω9 (20.9%) for GER 18:2 (23.6%) 18:3 (20.4%) AN. total ω5‐monoenes 63.4 21.5% AN, respectively. oils AN can be considered as a good source ω5‐monoenes, especially GER. occurrence at present exception within Rhamnaceae family. Except Ziziphus jujuba inermis , no species this described with broad profile ω5‐monoene
