From verbal to physical violence: the different severity perception of stalking behaviors

ABSTRACT
Abstract Stalking is a global spread phenomenon consisting in harassing, annoying, unwanted, and intrusive behaviors, often considered regular courting. These behaviors are part of the broader range gender-based violence. In accordance with theory ecological systems, this study aimed to investigate presence gender differences perception severity stalking actions, considering role type violence perpetrated (physical versus verbal) relationship between author victim (Resentful ex-partner, Incompetent suitor rejected, Neighbor dispute). The results showed main dimensions investigated by questionnaire (Moral Disengagement, Normlessness beliefs, Empathy, Perception Severity Stalking). addition, show that influenced perpetrated, differently men women. Results were discussed based on development literature topic.
