Mental health promotion and suicide prevention in emerging adulthood: importance of psychoeducational interventions in University students

ABSTRACT
Abstract Emerging adulthood is a stage that involves significant changes in emotional, social, academic, and work domains, which can often lead to high levels of stress mental health challenges. The purpose this study explore the potential benefits an online intervention program based on psychoeducation suicide risk prevention for emerging adults who are studying at university. A psychoeducational was conducted with 567 participants, whom 82.2% were female, aged between 18 29 years (M = 20.31; SD 2.089). examines intervention’s direct impact adaptive knowledge health, as well its indirect effect indicators. results showed after intervention, participants exhibited reduced stigma associated suicide, improved knowledge, more attitudes towards suicide. Significant observed various psychological variables, including self-esteem, resilience, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, stress, risk, expected direction. These findings suggest integrating interventions programs into university curricula could promote well-being address among adult students.
