ABSTRACT
Abstract The strength of rock has significant influence on its performance, and is, therefore, a key input during modelling analysis mining geotechnical engineering structures. uniaxial compressive (UCS), which is popular parameter to quantifying can be determined in the laboratory using suggested method by International Society Rock Mechanics (ISRM). However, determination UCS consumes time, it costly, sometimes may not feasible perform because different conditions rock. Hence, this study attempts employ Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) approach estimate UCS, overcome various uncertainties associated with estimation. To use MCS for estimation, block punch index (BPI), Brazilian tensile (BTS), point load (IS (50) ), P-wave velocity (Vp) were selected as model inputs. A multiple linear regression (MLR) equation was developed used predict approach. methodology applied real BPI, BTS, Is , Vp data proposed simulated values that are consistent measured laboratory. mean through 119.10 MPa, while 118.42 MPa. In addition, hypothesis testing revealed (BTS) most site investigated.
