ABSTRACT
Our aim was to compare the basal levels of plasma brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and global histone H4 acetylation in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) healthy amateur runners (EXE group) with sedentary individuals (SED as well investigate acute effect a running race on these markers EXE group. Five days before race, all participants were submitted collection. On day, two samples collected group started immediately at end. In period, significant increase BDNF when compared SED (p = 0.036) demonstrated, while no difference observed. These parameters unaltered after race. The increased might be linked middle-aged runners’ phenotype.
