ABSTRACT
Social frailty is related to adverse health-related outcomes. However, the measurement thereof controversial and research into relationship between social physical functioning remains limited. This study aimed determine status via developing a simple self-reported screening tool, termed HALFT scale, examine association functioning, cognition, depression, mortality among community-dwelling older adults. Prospective cohort study. Community. 1697 adults aged ≥60 years from Beijing Longitudinal Study of Aging were included. The scale was developed based on 5 items: unhelpful others, limited participation, loneliness, financial difficulty, not having anyone talk to.
