ABSTRACT
To provide a comprehensive CERT (Consensus on Exercise Reporting Template)-based description of the resistance exercise program implemented in AGUEDA (Active Gains brain Using During Aging) study, randomized controlled trial investigating effects 24-week supervised executive function and related structure cognitively normal older adults. 90 adults aged 65 to 80 were (1:1) a: 1) group; or 2) wait-list control group. Participants group (n = 46) performed 180 min/week (3 sessions per week, 60 min/session) for 24 weeks. The consisted combination upper lower limb exercises using elastic bands participant's own body weight as main resistance. load intensity based (7 resistances), number repetitions (individualized), motor complexity levels), sets rest sets/60 sec rest), execution time (40–60 sec) velocity (as fast possible). maximum prescribed-target was 70–80% participants' rate perceived exertion (7–8 RPE). Heart rate, sleep quality feeling scale recorded during all sessions. Those 44) asked maintain their usual lifestyle. feasibility project evaluated by retention, adherence, adverse events cost estimation program. This study details trial, including well-described multi-language manuals videos, which can be used public health professionals, general who wish implement feasible low-cost seems high retention (95.6%) attendance (85.7%), very low serious event (1%) economic (144.23 € /participant/24 weeks).
