ABSTRACT
Abstract Porous and fractured aquifers exist in the area of Hurghada, Eastern Desert Egypt, whose recharge processes through common flash floods are not identified. Hydrochemical parameters, stable isotopes 18 O, 2 H tritium floodwater groundwater were applied subject to study. Additionally, He investigated deep wells faulted zone at Abu Shaar Plateau. 3 activity all sampled points lies below detection limit excluding a recent component groundwater. However, hydrochemical ratios isotope signature confirm that shallow springs (Red Sea Hills group) being recharged from modern precipitation. The parameters Plateau (coastal plain another origin for ions rather than Together with O values, Br/Cl ratio this group confirms absence seawater intrusion role fault as hydraulic barrier.
