ABSTRACT
Carboxypeptidase E (CPE) is one of the most important carboxypeptidases involved in biosynthesis numerous peptide hormones and neurotransmitters has an role endocrine regulation. A splice variant CPE (CPE-ΔN) been detected mechanism CPE-ΔN action tumorigenesis studied many different cancers. The aim this study was to examine expression human colorectal cancer (CRC) evaluate its possible use as a potential prognostic marker. Two hundred nineteen primary tumors corresponding normal tissues were included study. We have analyzed isoform by qRT-PCR Western blot 219 CRC patients. Correlations between mRNA clinicopathological variables determined with chi-square tests. Survival probabilities using Kaplan-Meier analysis, univariate multivariate analyses factors performed Cox regression model. Our results show that overexpressed tumor tissue high closely correlated differentiation, pT classification, pN recurrence, lymph node metastasis (P = 0.042, 0.036, 0.031, 0.006, 0.008, respectively). However, no correlation observed age, gender, localization, gross features, size. In addition, patients had significantly shorter survival < 0.001, logrank test). Tumor feature, metastasis, status associated poor prognosis after performing analysis. High also identified independent factor analysis 0.011). Based on these results, we can conclude might be marker for
