ABSTRACT
The transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGFB1) is a regulatory cytokine with both tumor suppressor and tumor-promoting effects in breast cancer (BC) cell lines tissue. Data about level of circulating TGFB1 its prognostic significance BC patients conflicting. objective this study to determine the clinical serum levels patients. We enrolled 96 female histopathologically diagnosed who did not receive chemotherapy (CT) or radiotherapy. Serum were measured by ELISA method compared 30 healthy controls. mean was significantly higher than controls (0.08 vs. 0.04 ng/ml, p < 0.001). There no significant difference according known disease-related clinicopathological laboratory parameters. had impact on overall survival univariate (p = 0.01) multivariate analysis 0.013). elevated has favorable value. However, it predictive role CT response.
