ABSTRACT
Abstract We report the development of a prototype tool for modeling risks spreading non-indigenous invasive species via ballast water. The constitutes two types models: 3D hydrodynamical model calculates currents in North Sea and Danish Straits, an agent-based estimates dispersal selected organisms with prevailing calculated by model. analysis is concluded postprocessing activity, where scenarios are combined into interim estimate connectivity within study area. latter can be used assessment potential risk associated intentional or unintentional discharges discuss how this water management outline other functions uses, e.g., regard to ecosystem-based implementation EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive.
