ABSTRACT
To compare the value of early Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) (with or without measurement Apparent Coefficient [ADC]) and T1 T2 weighted imaging to predict medium-term neurodevelopmental outcome neonates treated by moderate hypothermia for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Prospective followup 27 term after forneonatal HIE; confrontation 9–15 months with neonatal cerebral magnetic resonance (qualitative analysis conventional image DWI cumulative scores quantitative measurements [ADC] 17 brain regions). Infants adverse had higher on DW images. Cumulative were not significantly better than images (area under ROC [Receiver Operating Characteristic] curve: 0.83 versus 0.82 0.89 images). ADC lower infants outcome; caudate lentiform nuclei highest areas curve (0.96 0.99, respectively), but these those After HIE hypothermia, predictive images, alone (without measures ADC) was most regions outcome,
