ABSTRACT
Skin as a delivery route for drugs has attracted great attention in recent decades it avoids many of the limitations oral and parenteral administration. However, excellent barrier property skin is major obstacle effective transport through this route. The topmost layer skin, “stratum corneum” tightest one responsible most resistance offered. This necessitates breaching stratum corneum reversibly transiently order to achieve therapeutically meaningful level systemic circulation or local skin. In last few decades, number approaches have been developed improve limited drug permeability corneum. One promising approach use nanoparticulate carriers they not only facilitate across but also avoid drawbacks conventional formulations. review focuses on including liposomes, deformable ethosomes, niosomes lipid nanoparticles topical transdermal delivery. A special emphasis placed their composition, structure, mechanism penetration application. presented data demonstrate potential these dermal
