ABSTRACT
Postpartum depression (PPD) is a severe psychiatric disorder that negatively affects postnatal mothers worldwide. The aim of the study to investigate association between postpartum pain sensitivity and PPD as well identify other potential risk factors for their interconnections. current was prospective observational clinical enrolled 210 singleton pregnant women in tertiary referral hospital from January December 2020. assessed by Mandarin Chinese version Pain Sensitivity Questionnaire (PSQ), PSQ-C-total PSQ-C-minor scores were collected. screened self-reporting Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), EPDS total score recorded. PPD, interconnections, analyzed using combination stratified, bivariate, correlation, receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve, multivariate logistic regression, path analysis. Overall, 87 (41.4%) positive PPD. A correlation (r = 0.67) or 0.62) identified. [area under curve (AUC) 0.89, 95% CI 0.84–0.93; P < 0.0001] showed significantly higher diagnostic accuracy compared with (AUC 0.85, 0.80–0.90; 0.0001) predicting ≥ 10 points. Multivariate regression indicated high [adjusted odds ratio (OR) 1.12, 1.08–1.51; 0.001] gestational diabetes (adjusted OR 2.68, 0.96–7.47; 0.045) independent factors, while breastfeeding OR: 0.34, 0.15–0.78; 0.007) normal birth weight 0.17, 0.05–0.61; 0.0047) independently associated decreasing adjusted ORs analysis model bidirectional effects, only had direct impact on Increased closely points, PSQ-C could be reliable predictor. Moreover, diabetes, low occurrence breastfeeding, ChiCTR.org.cn identifier, ChiCTR-2000033091.
