ABSTRACT
Abstract To achieve high oxygen blocking structure of the ZrB 2 -MoSi coating applied on carbon structural material, was prepared by spark plasma sintering (SPS) method utilizing composite powders synthesized self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) technique as raw materials. The mechanism coatings at 1973 K investigated. Compared with commercial powders, SHS exhibited superior density and inferior oxidation activity, which significantly heightened ability in active stage, thus characterizing higher protection efficiency. rise MoSi content facilitated dispersion transition metal oxide nanocrystals (5–20 nm) SiO glass layer conduced to increasing viscosity, strengthening inerting impact compound inert stage. Nevertheless, -40 vol%MoSi sample presented lowest permeability 0.3% loss rate 0.29×10 −6 g·cm −2 ·s −1 . Owing gradient partial pressure inside coatings, Si-depleted developed under layer, brought about acute erosion.
