ABSTRACT
This prospective, multicenter, non-interventional cohort study enrolling human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1-infected, virally suppressed adult outpatients in Italy aimed to describe results obtained from patient-reported outcome questionnaires regarding treatment satisfaction and symptom perceptions HIV-1-positive patients who switched cobicistat-boosted darunavir antiretroviral regimens, coming ritonavir-boosted protease inhibitors. Patients entered this between June 2016 February 2017, once their treating physician had considered them eligible for darunavir-based as per clinical practice. Patients' regimen current burdens were assessed using two previously validated, questionnaires: HIV Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire (HIV-TSQ) Symptoms Distress Module (HIV-SDM). These administered at prespecified time-points: enrollment (Visit 1), 4–8 weeks later 2), 48 ± 6 after 4). Data of total scores both are presented median with 25th–75th percentiles. Questionnaires analyzed overall stratified by gender when applicable. A p value less than 0.05 was statistically significant. sensitivity analysis conducted evaluate the role lost follow-up, "last observation carried forward" method. 348 enrolled study; 296 (208 male 88 female) provided evaluable HIV-TSQ HIV-SDM weeks, while 250 (174 76 questionnaire data weeks. The showed improvements patient population Visit 2 4 (p < 0.001, sign test) also throughout period. In addition, burden symptoms, shown scores, decreased. Switching a therapy led increased reduced compared previous regimens. use outcomes daily practice could provide useful tool towards achieving guideline goals achieve "fourth 90", having 90% good health-related quality life.
