Abstract High-speed videos of the cut front and spectrometric measurements were applied to detect local vaporization on at high cutting speeds show that with increasing feed rate, temporally short intense flashes are generated by phenomena upper part front. The latter accompanied emergence an interrupted striation pattern surface edge. findings support assumption might be cause for reduced quality process elevated speeds. observation serves as a diagnostic method anticipate fail pattern.
