ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to ascertain the relationships between perspective-taking, empathic concern, and self-rating empathy as a physician among medical students.This analyzed questionnaire responses 152 students enrolled in Ajou University School Medicine, Suwon, Republic Korea, 2018. As measurement instruments, authors applied Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) Korean Student Version Jefferson Scale Physician Empathy (Korean JSPE-S), then examined participant characteristic variables based on obtained data conducted subsequent correlation analyses subscales, one-way ANOVA, regression analyses.Medical with clinical clerkship experience demonstrated higher levels perspective-taking physicians than did without experience. Moreover, concern were significant predictors students' model.Medical scores perception regarding necessity importance patient-physician relationships. Therefore, actual situations patient-centered therapy, enhance empathy, education should focus understanding other persons' opinions interpersonal interactions accompanied by concern.
