ABSTRACT
Abstract Low birth weight (LBW) is a major determinant of morbidity, mortality and disability in infancy childhood has long-term impact on health outcomes adult life. This study was aimed to model LBW using marginal generalized linear mixed models as well identify the potential risk factors Ethiopia. Data taken from 2011 Ethiopian demographic survey, which nationally representative survey children 0–59 month age groups. Two families, estimating equation alternating logistic regression family, cluster specific family were used for analysis. The result showed that 34.8% born with LBW. Alternating best fits data population-averaged effects given than model. Generalized two random intercepts evaluate within between regional heterogeneity weight. Both best-fitted gave same conclusion sex, wealth status, age, antenatal care, marital vaccination, anemia mother education level contributes understanding individual collective effect maternal, socio-economic child related influencing infant
