ABSTRACT
Interfacial water molecules are the most important participants in hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Hence, understanding behavior and role that interfacial plays will ultimately reveal HER mechanism. Unfortunately, investigating is extremely challenging owing to interference caused by bulk complexity of environment. Here, behaviors different cationic electrolytes on Pd surfaces were investigated electrochemistry, situ core-shell nanostructure enhanced Raman spectroscopy theoretical simulation techniques. Direct spectral evidence reveals a red shift frequency decrease intensity as potential shifted positively direction. When comparing cation electrolyte systems at given potential, peak increases specified order: Li
