ABSTRACT
Abstract To build a culture of integrity in HE institution, innovative approaches are needed to enhance education research ethics and (REI). In addition educating students, understanding is on how facilitate for those who lead others. The focus early-career researchers (ECRs) as future REI leaders. current study sheds light learning leadership competencies evolve during scaffolded collaborative training this target group. combines new instruments part holistic DBR. Data was collected from 3 groups experienced attending sessions the form written group reports discussion recordings. Qualitative deductive analysis utilised monitoring process, scaffolding patterns, display principles. Also, quantitative applied data, displaying nature collaboration. Results imply that case-based role play format effective All displayed high levels understanding. Combining ECRs with experience supported knowledge building by bringing various perspectives. Even though required different amounts scaffolding, similar: maintaining goal orientation, highlighting critical features redirecting learners. Learning analytics collaboration indicated person not necessarily most active participant nor took ‘group leader’. Still, it mostly thus supporting other members develop aspects.
