ABSTRACT
Abstract To purify water at low cost for our daily life, the effect of ceramic-based (mullite–cristobalite) and (mullite–zircon) powders doped with different amounts magnesium oxide (MgO) (10 20 wt%) was studied. These compounds are made a local raw material DD3 addition zirconia (ZrO 2 ) to create an open porosity. The were prepared by traditional mixing method help automated crushing. MgO doping on structural, morphological photocatalytic properties studied various analytical techniques such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, infrared, UV–visible spectrometry. results XRD proved that there deformation in crystal structure two types ceramics after addition, which resulted shift spectra right, while SEM presence pores larger size proportion increases. chemical composition basic components ceramic well additive confirmed EDS IR spectra. final show added (DD3Z) 10% have better efficiency than without zirconia. This important could be related higher rate porosity, provides more active surface. content showed high photoactivity 77.33% only 15 min. maximum hydrolysis obtained Orange II 92.95% period 45 min DD3Z/MgO powders.
