ABSTRACT
COVID-19 has emerged as a medical threat to mankind, with serious disruption of lifestyle in 2020. This not only changed the way we live and work but also pattern hospital admissions care. To see if there was significant change management trauma our region, evaluated data from centre for lockdown period compared it previous year, some available international data.We collated Tertiary care two periods, i.e. 25th March 2020 3rd May signifying strict then 4th 31st during which conditional relaxations were given. similar periods 2019. We looked at patient demographics, fracture types, injury mechanisms, even changes treatment protocols.Significant reductions caseloads noted; open injuries less, road accidents infrequent, cases due falls, especially children elderly still seen, although slightly reduced. The plan minimize operative interventions could be fully implemented complex nature seen by us. Only one case bilateral amputation turned out positive, no infectious consequences treating staff.COVID-19 pandemic led caseload patterns. Doctor responses needs alteration prevent spread disease.
