ABSTRACT
Abstract Alternaria blotch, caused by alternata f. sp. mali , poses a substantial economic threat to apples ( Malus domestica Borkh.) cultivation. Despite its significance, comprehensive understanding of the resistance responses recently introduced commercial apple cultivars remains underexplored in scientific literature. This study explored potential within germplasm collection, focusing on identifying with inherent pathogen. Evaluation gene pool for identified five cultivars, Skyline Supreme, Red Fuji, Chief, Oregon Spur, and Bright N Early, as resistant blotch Mashobra region. Conversely, under Nauni conditions, 12 (Early One, Spur II, Gale Gala, Dorset Golden, Anna, Co Golden Granny Smith, Honey Crisp, Washington Delicious, Sansa) demonstrated disease resistance. Notably, this highlights sources investigation valuable genetic resources inclusion breeding programs aimed at enhancing improved against blotch. underscores importance further exploring variability bolster management strategies production.
