The limited streamer tube system of the charm collaboration

Abstract A new detector system of 20 000 aluminium tubes, working in the limited streamer mode, has been added to the existing fine-grained neutrino calorimeter of the CHARM Collaboration in order to improve its spatial resolution. The system has been operational for nearly two years. The characteristics and performance of the streamer are described and some results obtained in a test beam are presented.
