ABSTRACT
Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 has historically been the threshold for surgical excision, but because of high regression rates, many countries are transitioning to active surveillance. However, estimates rates based on small studies with heterogeneous definitions and progression. This study aimed describe progression cervical using nationwide healthcare registry data. This was a population-based cohort women aged 18 40 years who had undergone surveillance in Denmark from 1998 2020. This excluded previous record or worse excision. Cumulative incidence functions were used estimate at 6, 12, 18, 24 months after diagnosis. In addition, modified Poisson crude adjusted relative risks within stratified by index cytology age.During period, 11,056 underwent surveillance, 6767 whom regressed 3580 progressed months. corresponded 62.9% (95% confidence interval, 61.9-63.8) 33.3% 32.4-34.2) follow-up. Most (90%) first 12 Women high-grade higher risk than normal (adjusted relative, 1.58; 95% 1.43-1.76), whereas there no difference between 30 23 29 risk, 0.98; 0.88-1.10).The observed supported transition clinical management excision particularly among low-grade cytology.
