ABSTRACT
ASCVD/CVD in Women Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) involves cardiometabolic abnormalities that increase women's risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and are thought to predisposition worse outcomes. However, the independent association PCOS with CVD outcomes after a event is still unclear. The National Inpatient Sample (NIS) Database was queried from 2011-2019 for relevant ICD-9 -10 diagnostic procedural codes. We identified patients admitted acute coronary syndrome (ACS) included those female sex between ages ≥ 40 ≤50 years. compared baseline characteristics in-hospital without Syndrome. A p-value <0.05 considered statistically significant. 219,290 cases ACS 40-50 years old, which, n= 842 (0.4%) had diagnosis PCOS. Those were younger (44.4±3.2 vs. 46±3 years, p <0.001), more likely be white race (80.6% 60.1%, have bariatric surgery (3.6% 1.5%, higher prevalence Metabolic (4.2% 0.5%, Obstructive Sleep Apnea (15.4% 6.9%, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease 1.1%, Diabetes (56.4% 37.%, Hyperlipidemia (70% 47.8%, Obesity (59.7% 29.2%, Coronary Artery (63.9% 59.8%, p=0.004), prior Myocardial Infarction (13.7% 10.3%, p=0.001), Chronic 2.1%, p=0.003), Major Depressive Disorder (25.9% 15%, p<0.001) if In regards outcomes, significantly lower all-cause mortality (2.4% 4.4%, p=0.005, OR: 0.5 [0.3-0.9]) There no significant difference other like cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock, kidney injury, need renal replacement therapy, intra-aortic balloon pump placement, sepsis, or arrhythmias groups. found women old notably increased factors strongly associated CVD. Despite this, we complications.
