ABSTRACT
Abstract In this letter, a multiple-related susceptible-forwarding-immunized model (MR-SFI) is proposed to investigate the influence on topic propagation dynamics of users’ repeated forwarding behaviors in response to multiple messages sharing the same key words of a topic being posted successively. The model describes the evolution of three forwarding quantities (once-forward, twice-forward, and multi-forward), introduces three re-transmission probabilities (mild re-transmission, deep re-transmission, and severe re-transmission), and describes how these measures impact the propagation efficacy. Data fitting using the real data of Chinese Sina-microblog accurately parameterized the model, quantified the user’s behavior influence, and sensitivity analyses also suggest strategies for effective information dissemination.
