“Prevalence and associated factors of preoperative anxiety among obstetric patients who underwent cesarean section”: A cross-sectional study

ABSTRACT
Anxiety is the most common problem in preoperative period. This anxiety increases postoperative pain, delay healing, and prolong hospital stay. Among surgical population, a higher level of has been seen obstetric patients.The aim this study was to assess prevalence associated factors among patients undergoing cesarean section.An institutional-based cross-sectional conducted from January 01, 2021, May 30, 2021. A total 376 who underwent sections were included. Descriptive statistics, cross-tabs, binary logistic regression analysis performed identify association shivering independent variables. The strength presented using an adjusted odds ratio with 95% confidence interval p-value<0.05 considered as statistically significant state versions state-trait inventory scale (S-STAI) used for study.The overall rate 63% (95% CI: 58.2, 68.1). patient's mean score STAI (43.81 ± 8.81). There high emergency section compared elective patients. Patients' age less than 30 years, education, previous anesthesia surgery exposure also highly dependent variable.In study, fear complications death result operation responsible while few anxious about financial loss osmotic issues.
