ABSTRACT
Abstract Resonance integral tables generated in heterogeneous geometry for the embedded self-shielding method are thoroughly investigated in this study. Inconsistencies between the infinite pin cell geometry used for resonance integral generation and the target lattice is clarified and quantitative analyses show that inconsistencies on parameters for the fuel pin cause discrepancies in the embedded self-shielding method. A universal heterogeneous RI is proposed and numerical results show that it is an effective solution to irregular lattices with different types of fuel pins.
