ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical and radiological results surgical treatment acetabular fractures using modified Stoppa approach.A total 57 patients (mean age 37.8 years; range 15-84) who underwent for fracture with approach from February 2013 June 2016 were included into study. mean follow-up time 28.1 months (range 24-35). records reviewed patterns, surgery, operative time, blood loss, reduction quality, perioperative complications. Reduction quality graded as anatomic, imperfect, or poor. Harris Hip Score (HHS) Merle d'Aubigné score used functional evaluation.Among 63 acetabulum patients, 27 associated both columns, 12 T-type fractures, 10 transverse, 7 anterior column/posterior hemitransverse, 5 column, 2 wall fracture. A single surgeon performed all operations. Pfannenstiel incision in first 19 cases while vertical midline remaining 38 cases. Average operation 5.5 days, supplemental lateral windows 17 (29.8%) patients. loss times 660 mL 152 min, respectively. Radiological outcomes poor 52 (82.5%), 9 (14.2%), (3.2%) Clinical at years HHS scores 86.6 66-96) (Excellent 27, good 23, fair 4, 3 patient) 16.7 10-18) 25, very 18, 6, 5, patient), There a significant relation between outcome (p < 0.001), there no type > 0.05). Iatrogenic external iliac vein damage noted Obturator nerve palsy recovered spontaneously 3.7 3-5). Rectus abdominus paralysis (10.5%) Pfannenstiel-incision but not vertical-incision patients. Our experience shows that satisfactory can be obtained, even bilateral incision.Level IV Therapeutic Study.
