Patient delay and associated factors in Chinese women under 40 years diagnosed with breast cancer: A cross-sectional study

ABSTRACT
Objective: This study aims to examine the prevalence of patient delay among young breast cancer patients in China and identify factors associated with this delay. Methods: Utilizing Andersen's Behavioral Model Health Services Utilization, 286 were recruited through convenient sampling from Hunan province, China, between October 2022 March 2023. Face-to-face data collection included demographic information, disease characteristics, delay, quality life. Descriptive statistics logistic regression analysis employed analyze data, significance set at P < 0.05. Results: Among patients, 106 (37.06%) experienced a median time 30 days. Factors living rural areas, longer waiting times for first outpatient appointment, diagnosis departments other than Breast Surgery.
