ABSTRACT
To determine the structure of triterpenoid isolated from avocado seeds and cytotoxic effect on MCF-7 HepG2 cells. The powder sample was macerated with ethanol, followed separation extract by column chromatography. target compound monitored thin layer chromatography plate reagent Lieberman–Buchard. characterized spectral analysis, mainly ultraviolet, infrared, liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy their spectroscopic data those reported in literature were compared. In vitro activity investigated against Vero, MCF-7, cell lines using MTT assay. A ethanol extract. extracts, fraction (F3), showed a significant all lines. assay that isolate inhibited proliferation line IC50 values 62 μg/mL 12 μg/mL, respectively, safe to normal results present study reveal have potential for further development as anticancer agents.
