ABSTRACT
The mucosal barrier is crucial for intestinal homeostasis, and goblet cells are essential maintaining the integrity. proviral integration site Moloney murine leukemia virus-1 (PIM1) kinase regulates multiple cellular functions, but its role in homeostasis during colitis unknown. Here, we demonstrate that PIM1 prominently elevated colonic epithelia of both ulcerative patients models, presence microbiota. Epithelial leads to decreased cells, thus impairing resistance colitis-associated colorectal cancer (CAC) mice. Mechanistically, modulates cell differentiation through Wnt Notch signaling pathways. Interestingly, interacts with histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) downregulates level via phosphorylation, thereby altering epigenetic profiles pathway genes. Collectively, these findings investigate unknown function PIM1–HDAC2 axis colitis/CAC pathogenesis, which points potential PIM1-targeted therapies CAC.
