ABSTRACT
In this work, the potential of using Polymer Derived Ceramics based on SiAlOC glasses in form protective thin layers was demonstrated Ferritic Stainless Steel (FSS) Crofer 22APU steel, an alloy often used for intermediate- and low-temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC's) interconnects. Microstructural features were investigated by detailed analysis combining Electron Probe Micro Analysis (EPMA) Raman Confocal imaging (surface depth profiling), which revealed formation Si-O-Cr bridges, believed to play a crucial role slow down oxidation steel. Additionally, positive aluminum introduced into SiOC system, enhances suppression degradation transport processes. The most value such findings is flexible coating material (SiAlOC glasses) that may be applied wide range FSSs increasing their heat resistance. application combination methods determine both chemical phase (Raman) composition multi-layered complex system also demonstrated.
