ABSTRACT
In this work, a numerical model is proposed to analyze the influence of particle–particle interaction in laser directed energy deposition or LMD (laser metal deposition) CM247 Ni-based superalloy. The based on analysis contact between particles and potential agglomeration powder predict conditions at nozzle exit. Simulation results were experimentally validated good agreement was observed. At exit mainly large (>100 µm) are found small ones (<10 tend flow away from region. This also observed experimental PSD. Additionally, relative velocity particles, simulations able formation dents. comparing virgin PSD one exit, it that largest collected order explain phenomena, particle analysed numerically. It seen adhere big due their higher adhesive forces, which would change
