ABSTRACT
We investigated the predictors of mortality in major trauma patients using a registry system database. Data were obtained from level I center for all aged ≥18 years admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2013. Models adjusted patient demographics, injury mechanism, preexisting comorbidity, Glasgow coma scale (GCS), severity score (ISS), emergency department (ED) ICU procedures, surgical complications. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used determine odds ratios its associated factors. In total, 1561 met inclusion criteria. The overall rate 13.4%. After controlling variables model, factors with increased risk (P < 0.05) age ≥ 45 years; ISS > 24; GCS 8 8–12; fall accident; comorbidity renal insufficiency; ED cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures; blood transfusion; cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive infection Our data showed some after trauma, most which determined during event. Only those treatment complications may be improved when performing procedures.
