ABSTRACT
To examine how the gender of first and last authors annual meeting abstracts journal articles from a related source have changed between 2012 2022. All original research published to 2022 were extracted websites The Arthroscopy Association North America Arthroscopy: Journal Arthroscopic Related Surgery, respectively. full names analyzed with validated Genderize algorithm. Analyses performed evaluate authorship articles. Of 850 abstracts, 845 (99.4%) had an identifiable first-author 843 (99.2%) last-author gender. proportion female increased 9.2% in 15.2% 2022, whereas decreased 13.5% 12.3% 4,811 articles, 4,744 (98.6%) author 4,767 (99.1%) 10.4% 16.8% 19.0% 9.1% For both was not significantly associated presence author.
