ABSTRACT
Radiation enteritis (RE) is the most common radiotherapy complication, and effective RE treatments are lacking. Resveratrol exerts beneficial effects on radiation injury. However, effect of resveratrol in radiation-induced intestinal injury underlying mechanism remain unclear. Here, a C57BL/6 mouse model was established an epithelial cell line used to evaluate protective against mechanisms. improved oxidative stress apoptosis via upregulating antioxidant enzymes downregulating p53 acetylation. In vivo, resveratrol-treated mice exhibited longer survival; villi; more crypt cells; upregulated expression Ki67, catalase, superoxide dismutase 2; fewer inflammatory proteins apoptotic cells. These were suppressed by inhibition SIRT1. results demonstrate that can reduce inhibiting SIRT1/FOXO3a PI3K/AKT pathways.
