ABSTRACT
This study evaluated the effect of Flacourtia indica fruit extract against isoprenaline (ISO) induced renal damage in rats. investigation showed that ISO administration rats increased level oxidative stress biomarkers such as malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide (NO), advanced protein oxidation product (APOP) kidneys followed by a decrease antioxidant enzymes functions. extract, which is rich strong antioxidants, also reduced MDA, NO and APOP kidney administered Inflammation necrosis was visible section significantly prevented atenolol extract. Moreover, modulated genes expressions related to inflammation kidneys. The beneficial effects could be attributed presence number phenolic antioxidants. suggests may prevent dysfunction rats, probably preventing inflammation.
