ABSTRACT
Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a common serious acute condition of the digestive system that remains clinical challenge. Severe (SAP) in particular characterized by high morbidity and mortality. The present study was designed to investigate protective effect Galangin (Gal), natural flavonol obtained from lesser galangal, on L-arginine-induced SAP mice AR42J cells. Amylase lipase activities were measured histopathology pancreas, lung, kidney evaluated. Inflammation oxidative stress assessed using ELISA, western blotting, RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry. Gal shown reduce proinflammatory cytokine production reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation vivo vitro. L-arginine treatment reduced expression components nuclear factor E2-related 2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway downstream protein heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) mice, whereas increased their expression. Furthermore, Nrf2/HO-1 inhibitor brusatol prevented anti-inflammatory antioxidant effects with SAP. Taken together, our results imply has are induced upregulation pathway, which effects. Thus, may represent promising for
